Music for Films ( for the [n]th time)

Hello, has any one got any films they need scores for, or possibly any old films I could practice scoring to? I am a Music student studying a degree in classical music and composition and I've been on this board for about 2 years now so hopefully some of you might know my name!

Anyways, if you have any offers, i'll obviously do this for free!

i have been trying to get work....even the free kind for ages on these forums, with no luck at all.

i was fortunate enough to hook up with one production company at ukscreen.com, so at least i get regular work now.

but i could always do more!

I have one music company that has written for some tv and adverts that has asked me to send them samples.. (actually asked me.. not me offered!) so that might turn into something but I don't know...

What equipment have you got paul out of interest? what do you compose on and what do you use to record etc.

Well, I know Running Like Mad needs a score, as do a few other projects of mine, but I don't feel they're good enough, frankly.

But you're welcome to practice on them, if you like.

And if anyone wants to score a not stunningly original but possibly fun and stylish zombie flick arund easter time, that'd be useful [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

well, vlad...i am seriously underpowered and under equipped at the moment!

i use reason2 pretty much exclusively to create the music, and i import into cool edit pro 2 to synch up with visuals....a long winded way to do it...but my antique PC can cope with it...and it seems to work ok!

i try to avoid recording live instruments as much as possible as i am not really set up for it...and there are people who can do it soooo much better than me...but if i need to, i can get some free time in a mates studio with all the latest software and gadgets....but that doesn't happen very often.

I use mainly sibelius2 to arrange/compose classically and logic or acid for more popular sounding stuff.

I've recently got reason.. but I haven't got that much idea how to use it [img]smile.gif[/img] I mainly got it for the sampling sections.

I haven't actually ever recorded anything, but at uni we do have access to a studio... at home I have 2 good synths to replicate strings etc. but for any solo groups I could probably get these recorded live as I am a music student and all my friends play a wide range of instruments to a high level.

i can wholeheartedly recommend getting into reason...it's very easy to use and has got pretty much everything you need in one place.

i hardly know any theory, and i am certainly not trained....so try not to pick it apart too much!

but i reckon its' pretty good since i did it by ear...using the pen tool!

I love the gong sound in that! so what was used in reason during that? mainly the sequencer I presume... I'll try and get some of my compositions up for u all to listen to but I haven't got any that really suit movies at the moment!! I'm going back to my old college when the term starts to download all of my old compositions onto a disc! so then i'll have some
